GovCIO is currently seeking a Technical Instructional Designer to become a subject matter expert on the VA Vocational Readiness & Employment (VR&E) Rehabilitation and Employment Services (RES) system on the VRE PSES Team.  This position is fully remote and available to candidates within the Continental United States (CONUS). 

Responsibilities

This individual will develop a strong understanding of the processes supported by the system. To be effective, they should have in-depth knowledge of training delivery systems and be skilled in facilitating engaging, interactive virtual technical training sessions. Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail are essential for managing training programs and materials effectively. Additionally, strong collaboration skills are crucial for working with clients and team members as this position spans across two programs. By excelling in these areas, this individual will significantly contribute to the success of training initiatives and organizational goals.

 

Deliver engaging, interactive learning sessions for clients regarding system functionalityDeliver high-impact software demonstrationsDevelop functional knowledge of Operations processes tied to system trainingDevelop live virtual and/or on-demand training for new system features and functionalityFacilitate technical training onsite when necessary (occasional)Communicate complex ideas in easy-to-understand terms with both technical and non-technical learnersMaintain subject matter expertise on cutting-edge training methodologies, including live and virtual instructor-led best practicesProvide best-in-class customer service and resolution to client and internal team member questions and requestsIdentify and propose training initiatives to improve learner experience, retention, and adoption of systems/processesEnsure training library and live training materials are updated as needed to incorporate system enhancements and process improvementsActively participate in system enhancement meetings and assist with initial testing as needed to serve as subject matter expert on updates to systems Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor's with 5 - 8 years (or commensurate experience)2+ years of virtual technical training experience incorporating engaging, interactive elementsAbility to convey complex technical concepts in simple, easy-to-understand languageStrong relationship building skillsStrong organization skills and efficient time and priority managementExcellent verbal and written skills with exceptional attention to detailSelf-directed and proactive, anticipating learner questions and customer needsKnowledge and proficiency in adult learning; ability to create high level training courses that incorporate experiential learning activities to meet the needs and culture of the audience (generic and customized); proficient in facilitating professional training programs; ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in adult learning, education, or communicationsSoftware expertise in Office 365 (including Teams and SharePoint) and virtual learning environments (preferably Teams, utilizing a variety of interactive features)1+ year of experience in software industry using AGILE methodsExperience with Camtasia and Articulate Storyline

Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance

Posted Pay Range

 

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
