Brunswick, the world’s largest recreational marine business.  We are seeking a Technical Lead Commerce Experience to join our team.  As a technical lead, you will take part in the design and development of software for the current and next generation of Brunswick digital customer experience platforms. In this role, you will be architecting and developing highly engaging applications with helping us to reduce friction serving our customers.   

  

We are seeking a digital technology leader to architect our future, to lead our web and cloud software efforts. The successful candidate will coach a team of highly proficient web & API developers, DevOps and quality assurance experts that launch immersive web-based retail experiences. You’ll produce architectures from PaaS & SaaS solutions that craft powerful customer-facing web experiences.

You must have a passion for delivering end-to-end software-based customer experiences. This means orchestrating everything from the customer-facing interfaces through the backend systems that make those experiences come alive online.

Responsibilities:

Technical leadership – Set the technical direction of a project, make design and architectural decisions, and create technical standards and procedures Team management – Hire, train, and mentor team members, and delegate work fairly Project management – Ensure projects are de livered on time and meet company standards, and keep all parties informed Technical issues – Resolve technical issues, guide team members through challenges, and troubleshoot technical problems Quality assurance – Oversee software quality, conduct security audits, and identify areas for improvement Communication – Bridge the gap between the project team and senior management, and communicate proactively Risk management – Develop risk mitigation processes and analyze operations to identify risks and redundancies Innovation – Stay up to date on emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for improvement Teamwork – Encourage team members to voice ideas, and defend your team when they make mistakes 

Activities:

Supports product managers in EOL (end of life) product decisions to maintain, refresh or retire products, services or systems (including applications, technologies, processes and information).Develops a roadmap for the evolution of the digital product from future to current state (as defined by the solutions architecture).Monitors the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements.Works closely with the product owners and product managers to ensure a robust architectural runway that can support future business requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

You must have:

Minimum of five years of experience in at least two IT solution development disciplines, including technical or infrastructure, network management, application development, middleware, database management or cloud developmentExposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms and processing environmentsGood understanding of strategic and new and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating modelsGood understanding of product management, agile principles and development methodologies and capability of providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debtExperience delivering presentations to senior-level executives and technical audiencesKnowledge of Adobe Commerce, Adobe Experience Manager and subscription management platformsKnowledge of various backend development languages like Java, Go and PythonKnowledge of various database technologies like MySQL, MongoDB and OracleKnowledge of various frontend web development languages like JavaScript, HTML and CSS.          Knowledge of various aspects of an enterprise technology architecture like business, information, data, network and securityExcellent understanding of application development methodologies and infrastructure and network architectureExcellent analytical, planning, organizational and technical and skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work with developers in an in-and-out outsourced environment

The anticipated pay range for this position is $115,700 - $185,900 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job- related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
