What You'll Do Avalara is looking for a Technical Lead, You will be a well-rounded software engineer with experience delivering software at scale in an Agile environment, and excel. Avalara is the worldwide leader in sales and use tax calculation. Design scalable software components Design integrations with other systems at Avalara and with external partners. You will participate in an Agile development team – including design, test automation, planning, backlog refinement and support. You will be a part of innovation culture and find ways to improve processes and services. Implement best practices for coding and development processes Support and develop software engineers by providing advice and mentoring Work with the Product Managers to refine user stories Build features from beginning stage through production deployment and operation Maintain overall product quality by fixing bugs and improving performance You will perform code reviews and ensure coding standards What You'll Need to be Successful 7+ years software development experience in Java and .NET, we also have details of the product in node.js, python, and other technologies. So, experience and willingness to use a broad set of technologies while claiming product expertise in Java / Spring-boot is a real plus with us. Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer, science, or engineering. Experience in engineering for developing available and fault tolerant software in a SaaS cloud environment. (AWS, GCP, Azure). Experience in designing and building scalable micro service architecture. Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server/ any other RDBMS, Entity Framework. Working knowledge of Web Services, REST APIs, Event-driven solutions. Working knowledge of containerization tools like Docker, Kubernetes Working knowledge of JIRA, Working knowledge of source control tools such as GitLab, CI/CD. Experience with Infrastructure as code i.e. Terraform 2+ years of experience with AWS cloud platforms.
