Technical Lead - Software Engineering

This role requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to coach and mentor developers. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions._ + Lead the technical design and implementation of complex software systems across the full stack. + Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers. + Conduct root cause analysis for complex issues, including those outside of code (e.g., infrastructure, integration). + Debug issues, sometimes without access to standard debugging tools. + Own and drive technical interactions with stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams. + Estimate work effort, identify system gaps, and ensure technical dependencies are addressed. + Set and refine code review processes, frequency, and quality standards. + Delegate tasks effectively and review deliverables for adherence to architectural and coding standards. + Communicate technical decisions and progress clearly to managers and directors. + Ensure alignment of all technical aspects of the product lifecycle. + Maintain and evolve documentation, architecture diagrams, and technical specifications. + Promote a culture of continuous improvement and engineering excellence. **SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:** The position works under the general direction of the Director, Software Engineering, exercising discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance in the department. **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:** + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). + 10+ years of experience in software engineering with increasing responsibility. + Proven experience leading technical teams and mentoring developers. + Deep understanding of system architecture, object-oriented design, and data modeling. + Expertise in debugging, performance profiling, and root cause analysis. + Experience with CI/CD pipelines, secure coding practices, and RESTful API design. + Strong knowledge of SQL optimization, database design, and indexing strategies. + Familiarity with Windows OS/Server, Agile software (Azure Devops, Jira), Git (or other RCS that supports Git-flow), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). + Strong development skills using .NET; strong preference for C#. + Excellent communication skills and ability to align technical direction with business goals. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience with development containers and secure system design. + Knowledge of PCI compliance and data retention policies. + Demonstrated ability to lead in Agile environments and drive technical initiatives.
