Roles and Responsibilities
Provide Technical Leadership of a small group of Engineers and Contractors in activities related to analyses, calculations and technical evaluations required for timely resolution of design and implementation issuesManage project work schedules and prioritiesMentor and provide technical leadership in area of expertise to other engineers and projectsWork within a team environment to execute work plans within budget and scheduleSupport civil systems design and/or equipment construction activities, respond to vendor questions and deviation requests; review and approve vendor document submittalsSupport the certification processes for GE Products (e.g. BWRX-300, VTR, Natrium) to address all US NRC (or other nuclear regulator) design certification requirementsEstablish and maintain technical oversight of the applicable regulations (e.g.; US, other national, or global region)Have other duties as assigned by ManagerInterface with internal and external customers, suppliers, partners, licensing, the NRC and international regulatory authorities on technical issuesIncorporate design requirements into analyses and design documentsSupport GEH quality requirements, including participation in design reviews, initiating andManage the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned systems using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirementsDocument technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and proceduresProvide timely communications on significant issues or developmentsMinimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other engineering discipline from an accredited college or University;Minimum 8 years of experience in a technology or engineering role.Professional Engineer registration in one or more stateEligibility Requirements
The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered.This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to U.S. export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of U.S. person status prior to employment.Desired Qualifications
Master’s Degree or greater in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or UniversityMinimum of 5-8 years of Nuclear or Industrial Technology or Engineering experience is preferred.Nuclear Industry knowledge / experienceStrong knowledge of fundamental engineering principles, BWR core/fuel material behavior, and mechanical or structural design fundamentalsStrong communication and writing skills and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignmentsStrong facilitation, team building, communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of project management. Knowledge of quality standards and systems (e.g., NQA-1 and ISO 9000)Strong analytical capabilities, problem solving and process skillsHonest and straightforward with a high level of personal integrity.Detail-oriented and accountable for results.Ability to work effectively within a highly collaborative environmentA self-starter willing to take initiativeThe base pay range for this position is $112 - 160k. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 10/25/2024.
The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
