Technical Leader - Vehicle Architecture A&U Attribute

This Product Development Vehicle Architecture role will provide technical guidance and oversight to Global Core and Applications engineers in all Occupant Package sub-deliverables:  Occupant Position, Accommodation and Primary Controls, Interior Roominess / Exterior Size, Ingress/Egress, Exterior Visibility, and Luggage / Cargo / Flexibility. The role is also responsible for leading the development and modernization of Vehicle Architecture requirements, procedures, tools & methods, design guides, templates and training.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering required 10 years’ + experience in Vehicle Architecture / A&U Attribute  Experience working with all levels (GSR through LL2) to achieve best practices   Broad vehicle engineering background including technical and customer driven aspects   Knowledge of systems engineering, GPDS, FEDE, and other internal processes  Creative and innovative thought processes; a natural problem solver with the ability to make complex trade-off decisions  High level of commitment and motivation and inspirational drive for improving results Very high capability and desire to continuously improve self, colleague and subordinate technical knowledge and capabilities with design and analytical tools Demonstrates leadership and key personal contribution in defining / developing processes, tools & methods with a successful roll out  Demonstrates technical expertise in Occupant Package / Accommodation & Usage Attribute Ability to learn and apply new systems, techniques and requirements quickly  Ability to effectively train and mentor others

What you'll do:

Provide global technical guidance and oversight in all Occupant Package sub-deliverables:  Occupant Position, Accommodation and Primary Controls  Interior Roominess / Exterior Size Ingress/Egress Exterior Visibility Luggage / Cargo / Flexibility  Provide technical training and mentoring to Occupant Package Technical Experts and engineers Guide development of technical maturity for Occupant Package Technical Experts and engineers Lead development of new, and bolster / modernize present, requirements, procedures, tools & methods, design guides, templates and training  Lead development of new, and bolster / modernize present, DVM’s and CTEP’s that aid Programs in robust A&U delivery  Coach global teams and drive globally consistent approaches Conduct peer reviews of all Occupant Package studies  Participate in appraisals and jury evaluations of Occupant Package parameter of Ford and competitive products  Monitor global regulatory requirements as they relate to Occupant Package  Collect customer and external feedback and incorporate findings into requirements, tools & methods, design guides and training  Incorporate the impact of new technologies (e.g. vision, controls) into requirements, tools & methods, design guides and training  Maintain a dialog with Program teams and relationships with related groups within Ford Collaborate with ASO/OGC and ES&ES in areas where Vehicle Architecture affects, or is affected by, regulatory requirements Consult with other groups requiring Occupant Package expertise (Safety, D&R / Seats & Restraints, Interior Trim, ADAS, etc.) Partner with Vehicle Architecture Program Managers to represent the customer
