Purpose of Role:
To lead basic research and development activities that will result in new and improved products and processes. To provide technical solutions regarding latex and rubber processing and applications to both internal and external customers.

Assignment and planning of work
Primary work objectives will be set by the Head of R&T or Technical Manager.Support tasks may be requested from time to time by Senior Rubber Technologists.The job holder is expected to plan his/her own work through the use of action plans agreed with the Head of Department - NPD.Working relationships
Internally with the own team, Head of R&T, Technical Manager, DCO Manager, and senior WMM management team.Externally with the following:Analytical services (Rubber Research Institute, Sime Darby Technology Centre)Information sources (RRI, SIRIM, RAPRA, Universities)Existing suppliers or potential raw material suppliersLeading laboratory equipment suppliersKey features
The job holder is expected to display a high level of initiative and a strong focus on the completion of projects on time.As project progress from the laboratory stage to production, the job holder is expected to organize a trial time with manufacturing departmental managers.The job holder is also expected to seek ways to improve the work standards to ensure that data are being produced and meet the standards of external laboratories.
