MAIN PURPOSE OF JOBTo oversee the technical team and manage, improve, and optimise the technical operations within the facility. To act as the management representative for quality management, continuous improvement, and occupational health safety related to the engineering aspects of the facilities. The core purpose of this position is to perform maintenance on buildings and equipment to ensure that assets are upheld to their original state.
REQUIRED EDUCATIONESSENTIAL EDUCATION:
NQF level 6 Engineering qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with Thermodynamics and Electro Technology passed at second year level.
DESIRED EDUCATION:
A tertiary qualification in business management or leadership.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 6 years post-graduate engineering experience with HVAC and auxiliary electrical power supplies exposure.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
At least 2 years experience within a facility management environment .
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREASOversee the management and management of building, plant and equipment.
Manage and support technical projects with the hospital.
Manage and mitigate Technical Operations Risk within the hospital.
Oversee and manage on-site contractors and suppliers in the hospital.
Ensure quality management and continuous improvement within the technical operations of the hospital.
Manage stakeholder relations and client service within the technical environment at the hospital.
Lead and manage the people in the technical team.
Manage and control the departmental budget/finances.
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE General building maintenance People Management Financial Management and Budgeting Project Management Appointed as competent person as defined in paragraph (a) as per General Machinery Regulations of 1998 (OHS Act 85 of 1993) Ensure quality management and continuous improvement within Technical Operations Preventative maintenance Fault finding and troubleshooting Report writing Communication Skills - Verbal Operational Standards e.g. LEAN principles Use of mechanical tools and machinery Computer Skills (MS Office suite)
