Food Chemistry Testing:  

What we do…

Analytical testing of foods, supplements, ingredients, and packaging. Includes work on: accurate nutrition labels, creating safe products and supply chains, and assisting with compliance with FDA and international regulatory agencies.

The Technical Manager serves as a technical expert and client facing leader for the supplement and food market. Takes a lead role in interfacing with clients, specifically involving technical expertise and problem solving. Provides technical assistance internally, maintaining very high technical standards for entire team.  May have overall responsibility for training and mentoring departmental staff. Is responsible for reviewing data and client reports for accuracy.  Takes a lead role in identifying and solving complex scientific challenges.

Job DescriptionCoordinates the efforts of various staff members for client projectsAssists operations and management in reviewing and approving methodology specific to the food and dietary supplement industriesAct as a liaison between operations, commercial and clients.Compiles and communicates client requirements to the appropriate staff membersDevelops project plans, study outlines and reports, including any alterations or client comments, ensures compliance with appropriate SOP’s, and appropriate regulatory agency guidelinesMonitors progress and status of multiple projectsWorks with the project teams to troubleshoot and solve development challenges as necessaryReviews reports for scientific accuracy and completenessProvides technical/scientific guidance and leadership to the project team as well as other areas of the company to ensure project completionReviews cost estimates for applications, new technology, and analyses.Responsible for ensuring that any unforeseen circumstances that may affect the quality and integrity of the product or test data are identified and documented as they occur and corrective action is takenResponds to unscheduled deadlines, client needs, crises, etc., without neglecting other duties.Acts as a mentor to less-experienced scientific staffWorks on a wide range of problems where causal relationships are progressively difficult to establish and the use of creative thinking is requiredPerforms method development and other project work as neededInvestigates and onboard new technologyPerforms other related duties as assigned
