Job Title: Technical Manager
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Manager to oversee and manage the technical aspects of various projects. The ideal candidate will apply intensive and diversified knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices in broad areas. The role requires strong leadership, technical mentorship, and the ability to create systems for technical knowledge management.

ResponsibilitiesManage technical project aspects with other disciplines and departments.Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.Delegate and supervise assignments to team members, providing technical mentorship.Create systems for technical knowledge management.Determine plan or report format and oversee execution.Serve as the go-to resource for AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other technical software questions.Act as a technical strategist for civil engineering and technical specialties in land/site development, water resources, or survey-related projects.Provide technical leadership by developing and refining technical processes and methodologies.Advance technical capabilities by mentoring staff and facilitating knowledge transfer.Manage team members, including task delegation, staff reviews, and supervisory tasks.Actively participate in QA/QC processes by conducting thorough technical reviews of engineering deliverables and mentoring staff in quality standards and procedures.Supervise employees in coordination with Principal, Sr. Project Manager, or Sr. Technical Manager.Participate in the interview process, hiring, and training employees.Plan, assign, and direct work.Appraise performance, reward, and address misconduct among employees.Address complaints and resolve problems.Essential Skills7+ years of overall experience.At least 2 years of experience in land development.Multiple years of experience in solar projects, with at least 5 years in utility-scale solar projects.At least three years of experience as the central design figure for a team.Experience mentoring and overseeing technical aspects of projects.Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Grading Design, Mass Grading, and Hydrology.Additional Skills & QualificationsProficiency in hydrology software such as Float 2D, HEC-RAS, and HEC-RAS 2D, including modeling the 100-year storm event.EIT certification required, PE preferred.Any combination of a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and six years of civil engineering design experience.Work Environment

The work environment includes a hybrid work schedule with flexible hours: Monday to Thursday (9 hours) and a half-day on Friday. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $136000.00/yr.
