Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

We have an exciting opportunity for a leader with a clinical trial background to help stand up a lab in collaboration with our client.  This Technical Manager will support hiring and managing building to a team of ~60 PSS employees for a PSS client site.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support Associate Technical Director in building and managing a team of ~60 PSS employeesTechnical background and experience to contribute as SMEOversee training of new employees.Manage Group Leaders/SME’sDirect day to day administration and operation of services for contracted scope of work including assurance that scheduling of laboratory staff is appropriate to meet testing or other delivery expectationsTimely recruiting of new or replacement staff.Work with recruiting teams to drive down recruitment TAT’s.Work with their teams to drive up retention.Be more readily available to work with their staff on career pathing to help retain employees.Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriateApplies the highest quality standard in all areas of responsibilityDemonstrates and promotes the company visionDemonstrates strong client service skills, teamwork, and collaborationProactively plans and multitasks to maximize productivityMeets all quality and productivity metrics and demonstrates strong teamwork and collaborationDeliver KPI’s and metrics directly to Associate Director or client contacts where necessary. Ensure proper training of all employees in operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, teamwork and client serviceEnsure efficient and effective operations and systems to support strategic goals of company and client in Product QualityEnsures high client satisfaction by proactively creating and measuring metrics; tracks and updates all information for contract metrics for quarterly reviewManages communication with group leaders on all shifts, and other cross functional groupsProvide leadership and motivation; coach and develop individuals and team to maximize performanceEnsures compliance to cGMP and/or FDA compliance where applicablePerform administrative functions as needed; attend company and client meetings and share informationParticipate with Site Management team in strategic planning, succession planning and employee engagementContinuously improves processes and gains efficiencies

Qualifications

BASIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

BS degree in biological or related sciences with at least 7 years of experience or Advanced degree with 3 years of experienceManagement and training experienceClinical trial experienceExperience working with roboticsExperience with PCR, Oligonucleotides, PlasmidsEffective oral and written communicationsStrong problem-solving skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Advanced degree is preferredAt least 5 years of clinical trial experienceAt least 3 years of management experienceVaccine testing experience

Additional Information

Position is Full Time, Monday – Friday First Shift with support outside of standard hours. Although a remote position, candidates currently living within a commutable distance of West Point, PA are encouraged to apply.
