Located 96 miles southeast of Raleigh Durham airport, Kinston is a city in Lenoir County, North Carolina, with a population of 21,677 as of the 2010 census. It has been the county seat of Lenoir County since its formation in 1791. Kinston is located in the coastal plains region of eastern North Carolina. In 2009, Kinston won the All-America City Award. Through our Give Back program, we own our commitment to Social Responsibility and live our purpose of Packaging a Better Future. **Responsibilities** **Job Summary:** The Technical Manager II oversees all plant maintenance operations to support safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing. This role leads to proactive, predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities across all plant equipment and facilities. The Technical Manager II builds and maintains a high-performing maintenance team, drives a zero-incident EHS culture, and manages CMMS processes, budgets, and parts inventory. --- **Key Responsibilities:** Safety & Compliance · Champion a “zero harm” environment and enforce EHS compliance (LOTO, PPE, machine/tool safety, ladder safety, electrical safety, vehicle safety). · Conduct regular safety inspections, incident investigations, and follow-up training. · Collaborate with teams on safety initiatives and improvements. Leadership & Talent Development · Manage and develop a team of 30+ maintenance employees. · Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, certification, and ongoing development. · Set clear performance objectives, deliver feedback, and address performance or attendance issues. Maintenance Operations · Plan, schedule, and direct maintenance activities to ensure reliable equipment operation. · Maintain ownership of the plant’s CMMS (e.g., Maintenance Connection, Maximo). · Assign and track work orders, preventive maintenance, and equipment inspections. · Support capital projects and equipment upgrades, including scheduling contractors and vendors. Equipment Management · Oversee maintenance of production and material handling equipment (e.g., lift trucks, hoists, support systems like air, vacuum, hydraulics). · Collaborate with Engineering to develop and implement preventive maintenance programs. · Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Budget & Inventory Management · Manage maintenance labor budgets, parts inventory, and repair costs. · Supervise plant stockroom activities and maintain critical repair parts inventory. Reporting & Communication · Provide CMMS reporting on labor, repair parts, costs, and maintenance KPIs. · Attend site meetings (Tier II, scheduling meetings) and communicate effectively across departments and with contractors/vendors. **Qualifications** **Qualifications:** · High School diploma or GED required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred. · 7+ years of maintenance experience · Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. · Proficient with CMMS systems (e.g. Maintenance Connection, Maximo, MP2) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word). SAP and AutoCAD knowledge preferred. · Strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills and the ability to read schematics. · Proactive, self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple projects. · Ability to lift 50 lbs. and obtain a forklift license within 60 days of hire. **Additional Skills:** · Strong written and verbal communication skills. · Experience managing technical projects, installations, and vendor relationships. · Demonstrated use of continuous improvement tools like MTBF tracking and root cause analysis. **Job Locations** _US-NC-Kinston_ **ID** _2025-27611_ **Category** _Engineering_ **Position Type** _Full Time_ **Pay Type** _Salaried_
