Technical Manager of Software Engineering - Java & React

As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase Corporate Technology - Corporate Oversight & Governance team, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team’s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.

Job responsibilities

 

Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities Works at code-level and develops secure high-quality production code  Manages team of Technologists  Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting Conducts regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality and foster continuous improvement  Performs data manipulation, data structuring, data design flow and query optimization using programming language such a SQL  Proactively identifies major issues, risks, dependencies and manage them to minimize impact to overall implementation. Designing and building telemetry and usage tracking solutions for BI tools to improve tool governance and monitoring. Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements Manages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience Experience managing technologists and in working at code level  Proficient in developing software utilizing React/Angular, Java, SQL, Spring, Spring Boot, and Maven or Gradle,  in Cloud Native Microservices-driven architecture that deploy as a REST APIs Proficient in working with microservices  and distributed transaction management Experience with building cloud-native applications (AWS, Azure, Pivotal, or other cloud platforms) Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle, testing methodologies and their effective applications using Cucumber, Junit, Selenium Automated Testing, Functional Testing, System Integration Testing, and Cypress automated testing Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
