Technical Nature Senior Manager
National £60,000-£75,000 & London £75,000- £100,000
This role would suit someone with strong technical skills and understanding of nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities for financial institutions, nature-related data, metrics and target setting and associated nature-related market, policy and regulatory developments, nature-based investments assessments and experience in delivering on nature-related analytical projects.
A bit about the job:
You will be responsible for providing senior technical expertise and guidance at a Group level to enable the development and implementation of Aviva’s Group ambition and strategy on nature, including Group’s nature-related strategy, KPI target setting, metrics development, policy development, implementation and embedding. You will lead technical projects associated with nature-related risk and impact management, such as a nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities assessment across investment, underwriting and operations and to support translation of results to inform a Group-wide nature strategy, nature-related metrics setting and scenario analysis.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Experience built in nature-focused technical delivery relevant for the financial services sector and experience developing and leading a broad range of technical nature initiatives within an organisation or on behalf of clients
Technical expertise to support development of nature-related risk and impact management, and metrics and targets; and technical use of associated nature-related frameworks and guidance (e.g. TNFD, SBTN, FfB, UNEP FI) as well as expertise and applied experience of utilising nature-related data, tools and modelling (e.g. ENCORE, IBAT, WWF Risk Filter, TNFD LEAP approach, TNFD Scenario Analysis, IPR FPS+N )
Strong financial modelling and analysis experience, in relation to nature with good echnical knowledge of work of key external initiatives within the nature finance space (including but not limited to the TNFD, GFANZ, FfB, UNEP FI, NGFS, UN CBD)
Experience of developing and evolving a carbon & nature credits and offsetting strategy
Strong experience in supporting technical underpinnings to nature-related investment and/or insurance opportunity evaluation and decision making and any related investment and/or insurance case analysis

Starting salary between £60,000 and £100,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
