Responsibilities Liaising with clients to ensure that their requirements are fully met, including quoting and contracting projects and ensuring clients provide all the necessary information regarding their products as well as the test specimens themselvesConducting tests in accordance with the requirements of the appropriate test standard and approved proceduresPreparation of test reports complying fully with the requirements of the test standard and quality manualWorking with the Technician teams to ensure that test preparations and testing are completed to specification and on timeInvolvement in specific projects to cost, organise and complete Skills / Qualifications
We appreciate that not everyone will have technical expertise directly from the fire testing industry as such we ask for the following instead:
Ideally a higher education qualification, in a scientific or engineering fieldAn interest in understanding how things are put together / workPrevious experience or knowledge of working to testing standards would be beneficial but not essentialA working understanding of construction materials and their uses, some experience in a construction- related field would be beneficial but not essentialIT skills including Word and Excel – some knowledge of AutoCAD would be beneficial but not essentialGood decision maker with practical problem-solving skillsA confident individual with a calm disposition, able to establish a rapport with clients and staffGood written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detailOrganised and methodicalWillingness to learn quicklyEnjoys team working but can operate alone
