Who we’re looking for 

 

The TFS Information and Digital Systems (IDS) Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Operations Manager (COE) . COE Operations Manager primary responsibility is to work with the National Manager, Application Management Services (AMS) Operations on vendor management, budget management, strategic direction and Operations communication.  The Operations Manager is well-educated in the Application Management space with a Kaizen mindset.  This role is the conduit between finance, business, domains, AMS teams.  This role will work closely with our key business partners, technical and production teams, and third-party vendors. An Operations Manager must be motivated High-level interpersonal skills are required to motivate and influence in often challenging situations with excellent communication skills. Areas of focus are not limited to but include the following: 

Budget Management 

Vendor Management 

Performance Improvements  

Identifying automation opportunities for Operational work 

Strategic direction focus 

Operational Communication 

 

What you’ll be doing  

Participate in Major Incident Management calls and help interpreting complex problems in simple terms. 

Communicate with Executives on ongoing issues 

Managing the AMS budget 

Manage vendor resources to ensure quality support 

Identify repeatable tasks and propose automation for repeatable tasks  

Review and ensure accuracy of the information in CMDB 

Review and ensure accuracy of the Application Runbooks, Maintenance Manuals, etc. 

Participate in Operations Assessment of Factory Technical Deliverables 

Suggesting and implementing automation for Operational activities  

Retrospect on past releases and provide directions for improvement for factories 

 

What you bring  

Typically possesses 5 or more years of progressive, broad-based experience successfully working on or supporting Business Applications. 

High-level of technical and communication skills to influence and persuade others. 

Ability to communicate technical issues in business terminology. 

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present recommendations to executive management. 

Experience in managing vendor agreements and budget management 

Expert functional expertise combined with significant organizational and industry awareness and knowledge. 

Knowledge and understanding of Industry Standards or Best Practices within the Application Production Support space 

Proven ability to work successfully with limited supervision 

Experience with Automation process tools
