About the Role:
We’re on the lookout for a highly organised and solution-focused Technical and Operations Manager to join the team at Festival Hall. This is a hands-on leadership role that sits at the heart of our event delivery team — shaping the behind-the-scenes magic that brings our stage to life.
You’ll oversee all things technical and operational — liaising with promoters and production crews, managing venue turnarounds, leading BOH teams, and ensuring everything runs smoothly, safely and on budget. From capital works to compliance, you’ll be across every detail and ready to pivot when the unexpected happens (because it often does).

What you’ll be doing:
Technical Event Leadership: Liaising with touring crews and promoters to deliver flawless production outcomes.Venue Operations: Managing venue and production activity including venue turnarounds and day-to-day logistics.Team Management: Leading, training and rostering BOH staff and contractors to ensure smooth, cost-effective delivery.Facility Maintenance: Partnering with the landlord and suppliers to maintain the venue in line with lease and safety obligations.Risk & Safety: Overseeing BOH risk assessments and being an active member of the OHS committee.Capital Works & Compliance: Managing allocated projects and ensuring all licensing and statutory requirements are met.Financial Coordination: Supporting event forecasting and settlements in partnership with Finance and Venue Managers.
What we’re looking for:
Live Venue Experience: Proven experience in BOH management within a live music or similar venue.Technical Know-how: A solid understanding of lighting, audio, rigging and production logistics.Strong IT Capability: Confident with Microsoft Office and tech systems relevant to venue operations.Cool Under Pressure: A calm and proactive approach to high-pressure situations and quick turnarounds.Leadership Skills: A natural leader who can build trust and get the best out of teams and contractors.Detail-Driven: Strong organisational skills, excellent communication and a sharp eye for detail.Desirable Extras: Not essential but highly regarded: Riggers Certificate, Forklift or Truck Licence, Working at Heights accreditation, First Aid (HLTAID011)
