As the Category Manager of Strategic Sourcing for Direct Packaging Materials, you will lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies to optimize the procurement of resin, labels, and corrugated materials. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving cost savings initiatives while ensuring the highest quality standards are met. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments to achieve company objectives.
Responsibilities:Develop and implement sourcing strategies for resin, labels, and corrugated materials in alignment with company goals and objectivesIdentify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for resin, labels, and corrugated materials, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirementsNegotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favourable termsContinuously monitor market trends, supplier performance, and industry developments to identify opportunities for optimization and improvementCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement manufacturing, and finance, to ensure sourcing strategies support business needs and objectivesLead supplier relationship management efforts, fostering positive relationships and addressing any issues or concerns promptlyDrive initiatives to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce lead times, and mitigate risks related to resin and corrugated materialsAnalyze spending data and procurement metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvementStay informed about regulatory requirements and sustainability initiatives related to resin and corrugated materials, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulationsMentor and develop sourcing team members, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals and objectives
