Technical Project Manager - This role is hybrid and requires you to be in our downtown Toronto office (250 Yonge Street) / client office (33 Dundas Street West, Toronto) 1-2 times per week - subject to change at any time.
Your future duties and responsibilities:• This role is in charge of defining objectives, creating plans to achieve objectives, tracking/reporting progress against objectives and budgets, driving execution of key projects and programs, and improving project management processes.
• Provides overall coordination, status reporting, and stability of project oriented work efforts
• Must have strong experience running waterfall, agile and hybrid projects, aligning processes, deliverables and project metrics/dashboards/reports as needed
• Provide strategic input to IT leadership on all aspects of projects or programs being managed to provide value to the business
• Successfully manage and execute projects on schedule and on budget
• Manage internal resources and any subject matter experts from other functional areas or external entities
• Track and report project status on a consistent basis, including identifying, categorizing, and escalating project issues and risks that need leadership attention
• Establish and maintain standardized processes, procedures, tools, training, and reporting functions related to projects worked on within IT
• Prior experience managing technology roadmap projects and general knowledge and understanding of the technology field and technology projects
• Ensure that communicated and planned metrics (savings, cost, timing, etc.) are achieved
• Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching team members to ensure success in their roles
• Responsible for coaching, developing, and encouraging excellence from a diverse team
• Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
• Minimum 7 years of project management experience
• Exposure to AWS is a must. Experience in API development / migration projects is preferred
• Experience with vendor management and vendor package implementations
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of Industry IT Project Execution Methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall and Scrum.
• Strong financials experience including but not limited to creating, tracking and managing a budget
• Proficiency with MS Project
• Strong analytical and problem-solving / decision-making skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
