Job Description Summary:

Portfolio Managers within the Technology PMO are responsible for maximizing investments for their assigned CTO value stream. This role ensures optimal resource allocation, demand management guidance, and alignment of project portfolios with organizational priorities. The Portfolio Manager collaborates with PMOs, CTO Operations, Finance, and Vendor Management teams to provide portfolio-level reporting, investment performance analysis, resource alignment, and guidance through the demand management process.

Key Responsibilities

Resource Management:

Oversee resource allocation and capacity planning within the assigned value stream to ensure efficient use of personnel and financial resources.Collaborate with functional leaders and project managers to address resource constraints, balancing workload demands across the portfolio.Monitor and adjust resource utilization to align with shifting priorities and organizational goals.

Portfolio-Level Reporting:

Provide comprehensive portfolio-level reporting, including status updates, risks/issues/blockers, dependencies, and quarterly delivery schedules.Develop and maintain standardized dashboards and reporting tools to support transparency and decision-making.Ensure timely escalation and resolution of critical risks and issues impacting portfolio performance.

Collaboration with Operations Teams:

Partner with Operations teams to facilitate monthly Domain reporting, ensuring accuracy and consistency in performance metrics.Consolidate data and insights to provide a holistic view of portfolio performance and alignment with operational goals.

Demand Management and Prioritization:

Guide stakeholders through the demand management process, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and capacity.Facilitate the prioritization of projects within the portfolio based on strategic value, resource availability, and risk assessment.Drive decision-making processes to ensure project work aligns with portfolio goals and value stream objectives.

Financial and Vendor Management:

Collaborate with Finance and Vendor Management teams to monitor and report on investment performance at the portfolio level.Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and contractual obligations within the portfolio.Provide insights and recommendations on portfolio investment strategies to optimize returns and resource utilization.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).Minimum of 7 years of experience in program and/or portfolio management, with a focus on technology investments.Demonstrated experience in resource planning, demand management, and financial oversight within a technology environment.

Skills and Competencies:

Advanced understanding of portfolio management principles, methodologies, and tools.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.Proficiency in project and portfolio management software (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Excel, financial tracking software, etc.)Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging cross-functional teams and senior leadership.Ability to identify and manage risks, dependencies, and resource constraints effectively.Proven ability to communicate effectively across the organization, from C-Suite to engineering & product teams.Background in the technology value stream assigned (IT/IS, Core Platforms, Data & Analytics, Corporate Functions)

Certifications (Preferred):

Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP) or Project Management Professional (PMP).Agile certifications (e.g., SAFe, Scrum Master, or equivalent).

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is

$96900 to $234300
