Position: Technical Principal, Oracle Transportation Management

Job Description:

Forward Air is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Principal to lead our Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) initiatives. This role involves driving the technical strategy, overseeing system implementation, and ensuring best practices in the design and development of OTM solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of transportation management systems and strong leadership capabilities.

Core Responsibilities & Duties:

Lead the technical direction and architecture of Oracle Transportation Management solutions Collaborate with stakeholders to define and refine the technical strategy for OTM projects Mentor and guide technical teams to ensure high-quality deliverables Oversee the implementation of OTM solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives Conduct system analysis, design, and development activities for OTM applications Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to OTM functionality and integration Provide in-depth technical knowledge of Oracle Transportation Management and related technologies Stay updated on the latest OTM features, best practices, and industry trends Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and practices Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and end-users, to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture, design specifications, and user guides Provide training and support to team members and end-users as needed

Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in transportation management systems, with a focus on Oracle Transportation Management Proven experience in system architecture, design, and implementation of OTM solutions Strong knowledge of Oracle Transportation Management, including configuration, integration, and customization Proficiency in relevant programming languages and tools (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, XML, Java) Familiarity with cloud-based solutions and data integration methods

Excellent leadership and mentoring abilities Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment Certifications in Oracle Transportation Management or related fields Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools
