POSITION SUMMARY:

The Technical Product Manager is responsible for leading AgReliant’s Precommercial Testing Strategy and managing a team of Technical Product Specialists who plan and implement late-stage precommercial product evaluation and selection. The ideal candidate will be located within the Midwest.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Lead and manage strategy, planning, and implementation of the Pre-Commercial Research Trials (PCR) program, including leading the team of Technical Product Specialists (TPSs) who execute the program Coordinate and lead the PCR advancement process Manage the budget for the PCR program Collaborate with Brand Product Managers and TPS team to ensure all product-related technical materials are complete and accurate Coordinate PCR layout and testing procedures with PCR Database Manager Develop and oversee data management and analytics capabilities for the PCR team in collaboration with AgReliant’s Decision Sciences and BioStats teams Plan and implement AgReliant’s seed treatment testing program in collaboration with the Pricing & Licensing team. Lead PCR and research check seed ordering and shipping Coordinate 3rd party testing for PCR trials Collaborate with research and production teams to ensure product launch readiness by identifying and communicating inbreds and pilots to be produced Communicate with foundation companies and internal partners to select and order seed for testing Collaborate with AgReliant’s breeding team to identify products and technology for advanced testing Evaluate PCR and other experimental corn trials in conjunction with the TPS team to inspect and ensure proper trial implementation and execution Lead TPS team in the coordination of PCR tours Be willing to travel to counter-season research and production locations if necessary Maintain the highest level of confidentiality, customer service, and professionalism; promote a positive image of AgReliant Genetics Be able to work under tight deadlines and complete work on time in a quality manner Participate in Product Strategy Team meetings Other duties as required

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in agronomy or related field desired, master’s degree and CCA preferred 7+ years’ previous product experience preferred

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Excellent people leadership and coaching skills Strong organizational and record keeping skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong presentation skills Ability to plan and prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint, etc.)

 

PHYSICAL/OTHER DEMANDS:

Ability to work required hours Ability to work in the field and office as required Some overnight travel required, up to 30% Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. Must have valid driver’s license and meet MVR Requirements
