Technical Product Manager

Responsible for all aspects of technical products including oversight and project road mapping. Provides expertise on services and product offerings aligned to the strategic goals of the business.

Scope

Responsible for managing one or more technology products and delivering against established milestones to achieve transformational goals.  Consult with development teams and stakeholders to create roadmaps and prioritize backlogs.  Continuously monitor current and trending technologies in order to bring new and innovative technology solutions to clients and internal teams.   No direct reports.

Reporting and Working Relationships

Reports to Dir, Product Management. Close working relationship with technology stakeholders, technology department and vendors. Maintains relationships with technology managers, project managers and business owners.

Primary Responsibilities

50% - PRODUCT MANAGEMENT: 

Oversees one or more technology products. 

Communicates details of development efforts to internal stakeholders as well as clients as needed. 

Creates and maintains a product roadmap based on market insight, user feedback, analysis, customer trends and competitive research.

Establish & maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders to understand their technical needs as well as their individual business. 

Perform market research to understand and communicate new trends relative to each product team to remain competitive. 

50% - PRODUCT PRIORITIZATION: 

Works with key technical and business stakeholders to determine project prioritization for technical products that align with key business strategies. 

Prioritize enhancement and lifecycle management, work with the development teams to drive business value and operational efficiencies. 

Collaborates with technical architects, developers, business analysts, project managers to develop and improve processes. 

Work with technical managers to determine appropriate staffing needs. 

Present product enhancements, status and recommendations to the governance team. 

Qualifications

1. Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required.

2. Capacity to analyze and understand product solutions to create and manage product roadmaps.

3. Ability to become a subject matter expert around technology products.

4. Ability to work with both business and technical associates in a cross-functional environment to develop a common goal or vision.

5. Desire to innovate – develop new ideas independently and with a team and execute with minimal direction.

6. Professional demeanor, including verbal and written communication skills for effective interface with all levels of the organization as well as with clients.

7. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting regular deadlines.
