**Your role and responsibilities**
What You’ll Do:
As a Technical Product Manager at Manta, you will define and drive the development of critical features, integrations, and enhancements for our data lineage platform. You’ll work closely with engineers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure Manta delivers high-quality, user-centric capabilities that empower organizations to manage, govern, and analyze their data. Your role will involve:
* Owning a specialized area of the product, collaborating with a dedicated engineering squad to develop and enhance key capabilities.
* Managing the product backlog and defining priorities based on engineering feasibility, customer needs, and business impact.
* Writing clear, detailed product requirements and collaborating with engineers on execution.
* Partnering with UX designers to ensure features are intuitive and meet user expectations.
* Engaging with customers, internal teams, and the market to gather insights and validate product decisions.
* Ensuring product quality by working with QA teams to define test strategies and criteria for acceptance.
* Collaborating with sales, support, and marketing teams to enable them with product knowledge and messaging.
* Staying on top of data management trends, regulations, and competitive products to keep Manta ahead of the curve.
* Providing updates to leadership on development progress, customer feedback, and strategic opportunities.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
* Minimum of 2 years in a technical product management role.
* Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) - you must be able to clearly articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
* Experience working closely with engineers, writing product requirements, and defining technical priorities.
* Technical knowledge of data-related domains, such as data management, metadata management, data privacy, data quality, or security.
* A user-centric mindset with a proven ability to translate customer needs into high-impact product features.
* Experience with enterprise software, SaaS, or B2B products.
* Strong analytical and prioritization skills to make data-driven decisions.
* A collaborative approach, working cross-functionally with UX, sales, and engineering teams.
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
* Experience with data catalogs and governance tools (e.g., IBM Knowledge Catalog, Alation, Collibra).
* Familiarity with metadata management, data lineage, or regulatory compliance.
* Experience working on enterprise integrations or API-driven products.
* Hands-on experience with SQL or scripting (you don’t need to be a developer, but technical literacy is important).
* Experience working in agile development environments with engineering teams.
* A background in data engineering, analytics, or enterprise software.
