Technical Product Owner
Overview Please note this is a hybrid position based out of our Support Office in Phoenix, AZ. Sprouts Farmers Market is on an exciting journey to invest and grow its Marketing Technology stack, from the source customer data storage layer to activation via owned and paid channels. We are actively crafting a multi-year technical roadmap to methodically grow our personalization capabilities in support of our robust marketing goals. The roadmap includes capability unlocks within existing Marketing Engagement & automation technologies and investment in new tooling that will allow us to identify our customers, know them, protect the data they offer us, and engage with them in a personalized way across all our owned channels, from email, text, push, direct mail, our web and mobile platforms, and via ad technology for retargeting or personalized media and ads. The Marketing Technology Product owner is a critical contributor in crafting and executing against the strategy and roadmap, and will be responsible for administering core platforms within our architecture: Aprimo Digital Asset Management platform and Braze Customer Engagement platform. In this role, you will be responsible for owning and providing deep expertise around the configuration, deployment, and optimization of MarTech products, including marketing automation tools and customer data platforms. The IT Product owner will work alongside a skilled team of engineers, technical producers, and technical analysts, to craft and deliver new feature capabilities and support of existing products. Overview of Responsibilities Essential Functions: Strategy Cultivate a strategic relationship with platform partners and act as initial point of contact for MarTech platform providers Aprimo and Braze. Continually assess opportunities to extend existing Marketing technology platforms to better meet Marketing Strategies. Drive quarterly business reviews with MarTech platform partners, influencing platform strategies through strong relationships. Continually research and assess emergent technology in the industry for future strategic growth. Regularly attend conferences, webinars, and subscribe to martech.org to discover industry trends. Bring forth recommendations and emergent opportunities to keep Sprouts MarTech relevant. Coach more junior team members as they grow into product ownership. Roadmap & Release Management Influence vendor platform roadmap with capabilities and feature requests. Obtain advanced knowledge of new features and functionality coming into the platform and create a cadence for turning on feature flags in our environment, following planned coordination and testing with business partners and IT product teams. Consistently track platform utilization and identify future roadmap milestones when utilization will exceed allotment and/or contract renewals are required. Lead working sessions with Business Owners and Technical team members to craft a roadmap of business capabilities and technical enablement work. Represent changes in IT Change Advisory Board meetings and communicate to stakeholders about planned or emergency releases. Execution In Partnership with Infosec teams, ensure platforms adhere to Sprouts Security Policies for user access controls and handling of customer PII. Designs a plan for and implements necessary monitoring and alerting, on an ongoing basis, to ensure core platform capabilities and critical journeys/ functions are working as expected. Architect solutions internal to Braze and where appropriate partner with Solution and Data Architects for integrations and data feeds. Configure platform as a technical producer where necessary and provide thought leadership to business partners or 3rd party managed service partners executing in the systems. Support CRM and personalization roadmap realization by enabling new feature functionality including; Content Cards, In app Messaging, Dynamic image assets. Ensure robust business requirements are documented and that technical stories/ QA stories have traceability and coverage. Support product managers with an understanding of the Marketing technology budget line items and how feature roadmaps may impact these line items. Support Design and be accountable for platform issue management including: creating a process that fits within Sprouts broader Incident Management ITIL framework for reporting, tracking, and managing communications throughout P1 -P3 incidents Align the process with business owners such that there is appropriate division of incident management between IT and Marketing power- users who may introduce issues via Run the Business campaign creation. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent work experience. Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product. 5+ years working with or supporting marketing technology (ESPs, CDPS) preferably in a high-growth environment. Braze Certified Practitioner & Braze Certified Developer preferred or willing and able to become certified within first 3 months of employment. Aprimo Certified preferred or willing and able to become certified within first 6 months of employment. Technical understanding of data movement/ ingestion capabilities such as API, SDK, CSV imports, and batch integrations. 3+ years of experience with system integrations, data mappings, configurations, implementations, data migration. Working level knowledge of SQL. Experience within Databricks Environment a plus. Recent expertise with implementing a customer data platform (CDP). Understanding of data architecture, data models and data flows Knowledge of paid media integrations Understanding of data privacy, consent management and preference management Experience with or exposure to other MarTech technologies Strong interpersonal and vendor management skills Ability to work in a matrixed environment and build trusted relationships across a diverse group of stakeholders. An understanding of how to communicate priorities, mitigate impacts, and manage multiple technical projects with competing deadlines and stakeholders, and where requirements often change.
