Technical Program Manager, Battery Systems

Ford Model E is responsible for developing the key technologies and capabilities – such as EV platforms, batteries, e-motors, inverters, charging and recycling – to create ground-up, breakthrough electric vehicles. The Technical Program Manager - Battery System will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the battery system program. This includes managing the technical aspects of the project, ensuring that the battery system meets all safety and performance requirements, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration with other vehicle systems.
 

The minimum requirements we seek:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, or related) 3+ years of experience in program management Experience in launching high volume products, preferably battery packs. Strong technical background in battery systems, including knowledge of battery chemistry, thermal management, and safety requirements. Experience using Confluence, Jira, Jama, or other project management tools. Experience managing cross-functional teams and working with suppliers and partners. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.


Preferred Requirements:

Bachelors in engineering with 5+ years program management experience Hands-on experience building and launching automotive products. Strong written and verbal communication skills. An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team. A system approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement.

What you’ll be able to do:

Lead the development and execution of the battery system program from a PD perspective, ensuring that it meets all safety and performance requirements. Manage the technical aspects of the project including design, testing, and validation. Facilitate sourcing activities and cost reduction opportunities. Manage key metrics for team to be successful. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration with other vehicle systems such as powertrain, chassis, and electronics. Drive collaboration across cross-functional groups such as manufacturing, purchasing, finance, and supply base. Develop and maintain project timelines, volumes, and budgets, and provide regular progress updates to senior management. Ensure problems are transparent and risks are identified. Proactively ensure that risk mitigating actions are ongoing within relevant engineering teams. Work closely with suppliers and partners to ensure timely delivery of components and systems. Support key decisions working cross-functionally across engineering, finance, and strategy to reach the right conclusions.
