Technical Program Manager, Data Management, RBKS AI Data Management
The Ring, Blink, Key and Sidewalk (RBKS) AI Data Management team is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to lead and deliver initiatives that drive continuous improvement across our data collection, annotation, and delivery ecosystem. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying gaps between teams, processes, and system architectures - and driving strategic solutions to reduce our exposure to classic data program failure modes.

As a TPM, you will excel at solving ambiguous, complex challenges and proactively mitigating risks before they become roadblocks. You will be a highly autonomous, data-driven leader, regularly reviewing metrics and seeking new mechanisms to enhance visibility. Importantly, you will also ensure your program efforts stay tightly aligned with the organization's overarching data management and AI strategy.

This role requires exceptional program management skills, strong technical acumen, and the ability to influence and build consensus across diverse, cross-functional teams. Your primary focus will be on building a culture of continuous service improvement and contributing to the long-term data delivery vision for the organization.

Key job responsibilities
• Identify and address gaps between teams, processes, and system architectures that create exposure to classic data program failure modes (e.g. insufficient requirements documentation, ineffective cross-team collaboration, API risks, QA gaps)
• Decompose ambiguous, complex problems into streamlined solutions that reduce friction and improve the reliability of our data collection, annotation, and delivery capabilities
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks, demonstrating solid judgment in determining when to escalate issues without damaging relationships
• Review relevant data/metrics and seek out new mechanisms to enhance program visibility and decision-making
• Ensure your initiatives and objectives remain tightly aligned with the organization's overarching data management and AI strategy
• Communicate complex program plans, trade-offs, and outcomes effectively to senior leadership (Director level and above)
• Foster consensus and alignment across teams to drive coherent, scalable approaches to data delivery challenges
• Actively mentor and develop more junior Program Managers within the organization

A day in the life
You might start your day by reviewing the latest metrics and trends across our key data programs. This holistic view allows you to pinpoint areas that require deeper investigation or proactive mitigation. For example, you notice a concerning spike in data annotation turnaround times, which could indicate an underlying process or resourcing issue. You make a mental note to dig into this further.

Next, you jump into a working session with your Data Delivery and Applied Science counterparts. The goal is to map out the end-to-end data pipeline, identify integration points and potential failure modes, and brainstorm ideas for simplifying the architecture. This type of big-picture, systems-level thinking is core to your role as an TPM.

In the afternoon, you may shift gears to a more tactical initiative - like finalizing the requirements for a new data quality framework. This involves aligning with Quality Assurance, Data Engineering, and Product teams to ensure the solution addresses the right problems and can be implemented efficiently across multiple data workflows.

Throughout the day, you're also likely juggling ad-hoc requests and escalations from team members. A Data Scientist may reach out about an issue accessing a critical dataset, or an Engineering lead may need your help unblocking a tricky cross-team dependency. Your ability to rapidly triage, identify the root cause, and propose a resolution is key.

Finally, you may carve out time in the late afternoon to revisit your long-term data delivery strategy. You know that truly transformative change requires a thoughtful, well-communicated vision. So you reflect on the latest inputs, assess your progress, and start outlining the next iteration of your roadmap to share with senior leadership.

No two days are exactly the same, but this captures the key activities you'll find yourself engaged in as the Data Delivery Strategy TPM. The common thread is your ability to seamlessly transition between tactical problem-solving, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration - all while maintaining a relentless focus on improving the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of our data capabilities.
