Job Summary

Technical Project Managers are responsible for all technical aspects of MGB AI projects. They capture and document requirements, create detailed technical project plans, drive execution, and act as support for new products/services.

MGB AI is embarking on an exciting undertaking that aims to transform healthcare through consolidation of electronic systems to support enterprise-wide medical record access (research & clinical), artificial intelligence (AI) for diagnostics and improvement of provider communication and reporting.

The TPM will play several key roles in project intake, planning, and execution to ensure deliveries meet the expectations of project sponsors. The ideal candidate is a pro-active problem solver who takes full ownership of their assignments.   The TPM must be a flexible, motivated, and able to work independently within the frameworks provided. This includes managing project from conception through implementation, coordinating required resources, both internally and with business partners.


 

Qualifications

Principal Duties and Responsibilities                                     

Intake Management:  Manage request intake process to ensure the organization is scoping each new request appropriately.Relationship Management:  Act as the main point of contact for all parties seeking our services. The TPM will maintain communication with requestors to ensure expectations are set appropriately.Managing Proposals for Work: Elicit requirement sand co-authoring design proposals working in conjunction with our Leadership and project sponsors to set realistic budgets, achievable scope, and to outline a feasible technical approach for each new project.  TPM will identify and manage risks related to budgeting and resourcing; or risks to partner relationships.Project Planning Translate high-level requirements into trackable tasks in a formal project plan. The TPM facilitates work break-down sessions with technical staff and creates project timelines working with the tools available.Project Execution & Tracking:  Monitor and record team progress, maintain a log of risks, issues, and decisions.  The TPM will be the main point of contact to our leadership responsible for communicating risks and issues effectively. Resource Management:   The TPM will interface with infrastructure and applications teams as outlined in the TAP to ensure all project resources are available in accordance with the project plan.Project Leadership:  The TPM will take responsibility for ensuring the team has all resources necessary to ensure delivery. The TPM will strive to become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all projects to ensure project success. The TPM will act as the ambassador between our Leadership and project sponsors ensuring fulfillment of clinical, business, and policy goals.Quality Management/Systems Integrity:  Maintain and adhere to internal polices and processes related to project management, change management.Use the Mass General Brigham values to govern decisions, actions and behaviors. Qualifications   

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Information Services, Healthcare, or related field (advanced degree a plus)

5+ years of experience in Healthcare Informatics and/or technical project management requiredDemonstrated knowledge of technologies utilized within radiology informatics solutions (RIS, PACS and Voice)Demonstrated experience implementing/integrating new workflows into the clinical environmentStrong experience with Excel and PowerPoint required, and database software strongly preferredDemonstrated work experience managing projects in a healthcare IT/radiology setting, including knowledge of software development processesExperience managing complex system integrations using HL7, DICOM and other industry standards is desired, but not required – a strong plusExperience using project management tracking systems (MS Project, VersionOne, Confluence, JIRA, etc.)Understanding of application development including analysis, coding, testing, and documenting using iterative software methodologies (Agile)Experience in a scripting language a strong plus (C++, Java, C# or python a major plus)A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements
