Meet Our Team:

Meet Our Team: Software engineering teams in WBD’s Direct-to-consumer (DTC) division build and deliver applications and services powering the customer experience of products such as MAX, which run on connected TVs, set-top boxes, smartphones, tablets, consoles, PCs, and other streaming devices.

The Cloud FinOps team in the Operational Engineering (OpEng) organization plays a critical role in ensuring that our streaming media products and technology stack operate at peak efficiency, by developing a tools-and-process cost visibility and program pipeline across all our global infrastructure. Cloud cost visibility and financial diligence, championed and enabled by the FinOps team, are key to the success of our world-class streaming platform.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Scope & Complexity: You contribute to FinOps by delivering key analysis and reporting, and by working with teams to execute and evolve FinOps processes as the business grows. You drive resolution of complex problems by applying data-driven thinking and aligning to business goals. • Decision Making: You are able to learn and apply FinOps principles and working processes to multiple situations, and when you encounter problems, you are able to drive their resolution more often than not. When you cannot, you know who and how best to engage. When confronted with discordant views, you foster constructive dialogue and seek resolutions in a professional manner.• Agile Execution: You get a lot done. You communicate clearly, generate accurate analysis and reporting, keep to deadlines and manage delivery risks, triage issues, and you support teams seeking to use our FinOps tools. You switch effortlessly between these modes, adapting yourself to the needs of your workstreams.• Cross-functional Collaboration: Help teams that are contributing to our FinOps reporting and tooling, bring key experts together in collaboration when needed to get vital context and inform on technical challenges. When needed, facilitate collaboration between ourteam and other teams and their stakeholders.• Operations: You apply processes, standards and risk management thoughtfully, identifying the right amount of process and structure to achieve the correct outcome with the least overhead. You have a good understanding of industry standard tools and practical ways to apply them to problems you face.• Communication: Your written and verbal communication skills are exemplary, concise and to the point, making you the initial point of contact for any stakeholders. You include data in your communications in a way that is accurate, easy to parse, and valuable.

Required Experiences and Skills:

• 2+ years of technical product/program management experience, or software engineering, systems engineering, data engineering.• Experience delivering tech programs, products, or complex data analysis through multiple phases of the delivery life cycle.• Experience working with cross-disciplinary and geographically distributed software development teams.• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights. • Able to navigate ambiguous and complex projects largely independently.• Able to project cross-team influence without authority to instill a culture of ownership, rigor, and accountability.  • Identify and communicate potential risks that could impact timelines, quality, or success. Contribute to the development of contingency plans to mitigate risks and keep programson track.• Ability to focus both strategically and tactically to achieve business goals, including the use of data to drive improvements. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and managers 

Preferred Experiences and Skills:

• Knowledge of Agile or other product management methodologies, including tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Smart Sheets, Scrum, SAFe, etc.• Familiarity with technologies in our stack: Kubernetes running on public clouds such as AWS; IAC tools (Terraform); Observability (ELK); Developer platforms (GitHub); Messaging (Kafka), Analytics processing (Kinesis, Flink), Databases and more.• Familiarity with financial and AWS usage data sets.• Familiarity with security and compliance, digital media streaming platform, Software and Platform as a Service offering, etc.
