Technical Program Manager- Prognostics

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field.  Relevant work experience in lieu of advanced degree is also considered. 5+ years of experience in direct technical product/ program management in highly complex systems, preferably in automotive industry. 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Our Preferred Requirements:

Master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field.  Relevant work experience in lieu of advanced degree is also considered. 8 years of experience in direct technical product/ program management in highly complex systems, preferably in automotive industry. 8 years of experience leading cross-functional and/or cross-team projects. Demonstrated experience in developing prognostic or predictive algorithms, preferably related to automotive systems or predictive maintenance. Strong technical background with a deep understanding of hardware and software development processes. Experience with connected vehicles, cloud-based technologies, and data analytics is highly desirable. Proven track record of successfully delivering complex cross-functional programs. Excellent ability to communicate, influence and resolve conflict effectively at multiple levels, including executive leadership. Demonstrated experience managing partnerships across a diverse set of functions and stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; adept at synthesizing complex data to inform decisions. Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira). Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

In this position you will play a key role in delivering Vehicle Health Prognostics in support of Ford’s overall Vehicle Health Monitoring strategy and 100% Uptime ambitions. These key initiatives will move beyond reactive diagnostics and repairs to a more proactive and predictive future, with a focus on maximizing vehicle uptime and improving the overall ownership experience for our customers.  Success in this role requires someone who is centered around product and engineering excellence with a bias for action; thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; successfully partners with a wide group of people across the company; and embodies our ideas for building diverse teams. You will own cross-cutting initiatives, identify best practices, and bring deep industry experience to bear on a company-wide scale. 

Ideal candidates will have experienced developing prognostic algorithms, as well as multiple product cycles involving software and services, including up- and down-stream dependencies. You will engage with complex engineering programs, demonstrating leadership and a strong command of the tools and process required to achieve the teams’ goals. You’ll lead programs in a principled way, and by example when called upon. You will have consummate communications skills, keeping up- and down-stream dependencies well aligned, and entire companies well-informed. You’re as comfortable presenting to the senior leadership as you are coaching a new hire.

Responsibilities:

Lead Complex Prognostic Product Delivery:

Oversee the end-to-end delivery of cutting-edge prognostic products and features. Set ambitious project goals, develop strategic multi-year roadmaps, and manage execution across diverse teams. Optimize project success by managing dependencies, risks, and resource allocation.

Develop and Implement Technical Strategies:

Design innovative strategies that align project resources with priorities, keeping technological advancements and market trends in mind. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and guide continuous improvement.

Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate with engineering, design, service, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products. Balance customer requirements with technical capabilities and constraints.

Champion Continuous Improvement:

Lead efforts to enhance processes by conducting retrospectives, establishing new governance frameworks, and sharing best practices. Proactively identify and mitigate risks across multiple systems.

Shape the Product Roadmap:

Play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining the product roadmap for vehicle prognostics. Define requirements, prioritize features, and support the overarching product strategy.

Inspire and Motivate Teams:

Exhibit influential leadership by fostering collaboration, making data-driven decisions, and inspiring teams to achieve ambitious objectives. Help teams understand the technical implications of design decisions and features.
