Technical Program Manager - Release Management

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager - Release Management to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of software releases across multiple teams. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills to ensure timely, high-quality releases that meet business requirements.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute software release management plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Development, QA, DevOps, and Product Management, to plan, coordinate, and execute releases.

Define and track key release metrics, such as release frequency, lead time, and deployment success rates.

Identify and mitigate risks that could impact release quality, scope, or timeline.

Develop and maintain release management processes, procedures, and documentation.

Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Communicate release plans, status, and progress to stakeholders, including technical teams, product management, and executive leadership.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging teams to adopt best practices and innovative solutions.

Education & Experience Recommended

Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, or a related discipline.

Typically has 10+ years of work experience in software release management, technical program management, or a related field.

Preferred Certifications

Certified Scrum Master (CSM)

Certified Release Manager (CRM)

ITIL Foundation Certification

Knowledge & Skills

Software release management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)

Release planning and coordination

Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, ADO)

The base pay range for this role is $146,650.00 to $225,850.00 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only).  Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
