Technical Program Trainer

Endress+Hauser is seeking a technical trainer for our award-winning German American Chamber of Commerce Apprenticeship Program. This three-year program combines education and hands-on experience, followed by a two-year employment commitment at Endress+Hauser. Participants will split their time between classes at Ivy Tech Community College, working towards an associate degree in Advanced Automation Robotics Technology, and gaining practical experience at Endress+Hauser. This program is in partnership with the Industry Consortium for Advanced Technical Training (ICATT) and is modeled after the German dual education system.
What is the role about?
As a technical trainer, you will report to the Apprenticeship Program Manager and play a key role in expanding our European-style apprenticeship program. Your responsibilities will include recruiting, hiring, and training apprentices, ensuring they receive the highest quality learning experience and successfully complete the program to join our workforce.
Which tasks will you perform?
You will:
Assist Program managers in training and onboarding of Apprentices. Provide instructions and resources to Apprentices to ensure successful completion of ICATT/DOL certifications. Actively participate in the personal/professional development plan of participants by identifying occupational interests, strengths, options, and opportunities. Supports the Apprenticeship Program Manager to plan, implement and execute the apprenticeship program for up to (20+) apprentices. Being an exceptional role model for apprentices for reliability, trustworthiness and lives our Endress+Hauser corporate values. Teaches hands-on mechanical, electrical, and electronic skills according to the curriculum and standard industrial practices to prepare the apprentices for success at work. Ensures availability and set up of tools and materials for class/hands-on instructions. Manage classroom and shop/lab to ensure a productive and safe learning environment.Team Cohesion:
Actively participate in intra- and inter-departmental team meetings. Facilitate teamwork and positive interactions among apprentices by managing conflict and providing coaching and support as needed. Coordinate and facilitate training, ensuring a sense of trust and openness and encouraging group participation and ownership. Demonstrate sensitivity and respect for the opinions, perspectives, customs, and individual differences of others, and actively seek opinions and ideas.Professional Work Habits:
Employ effective leadership strategies for problem-solving, decision making, and conflict management Complete duties with integrity by staying focused on the individual being supported, being honest, always showing respect towards others, and completing tasks in a timely and effective way. Convey a professional image when representing Endress+Hauser.Department Administration:
Maintain expectations and adhere to department/agency policies and procedures. Complete and submit all documentation timely. (i.e., progress evaluations, attendance). Coordinate with all other departments as needed as it relates to apprentice’s progress. Implement instructional materials and curriculum to meet specific needs of the Apprenticeship Program. Implement program standards for the outcomes and skills to be taught to all participants of the Apprenticeship Program. Maintain a thorough understanding of person-centered thinking and the Endress+Hauser curriculum.
What do we expect from you?
You:
High School Diploma and 5+ years in a related mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical or equivalent education, training, and experience. An associate degree in electro-mechanical or a completed apprenticeship as mechatronic, electrical or mechanical technology or related field and 1+ years of related work experience preferred. Excellent skills in interpersonal communication, relationship building and organization Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools Verbal and written communication skills Technical comprehension CNC Programing, CAD/CAM Programing, Electrical Controls, Manual Machining (Mill/Lathe), Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Welding, Fabrication, Quality Tools (SPC, Metrology, Metal Fabrication, PLC’s, TPM, 3D Printing, and Technical Drafting/Modeling skills.
