As a Technical Project Manager on our FACTS Project Management team (Flexible AC transmission system) you'll focus the project management and the project execution on our ongoing delivery projects and support the sales team. Our main products are Static VAR Compensator (SVC) and Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM). In this role you interface across the GE Grid Solution with engineering, sourcing, finance and logistics regarding project execution matters. The role has autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Travel is expected to account for about 15%.
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead cross-functional Project Teams and be fully responsible for project schedule, budget and profitability.Be the single point of contact for our Business Line Region (internal) and sometimes our customer (external) on all PDG project matters and represent FACTS PDG in the project as required on our scope of work.Represent the customer (internally) for project specific issues.Ensure safe, compliant and successful execution of all project obligation.Coordinate and perform administrative activities as per relevant PM processes, including developing of project budgets, track operation activities, manage component deliveries, indirect purchases, manpower levels, project schedules, Invoicing, bank/payment guarantees, requisitions, documentation requirements etc.Participate in process & quality improvement and business initiatives and provide feedback on lessons learned to other departments.Assist with project execution input in support of GE sales team and assist the GE sales team to develop executable & competitive proposals.To coordinate, plan and communicate of all work activities with the customers and internal contactsManage day-to-day project activities from kick-off to sit activities.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (Electrical Engineering or a similar technical field) from an accredited universityAbility and availability to travel both Domestic and International (approximately 15% of working time)+5 years of work experience in project management on industrial investment projectsDemonstrative knowledge of project management processes and proceduresExperience with SVC/Statcom or similar systems are seeing as benefitFluency in EnglishFluency in Finish seen as benefit (not mandatory)Desired Characteristics:
You will have already some working experience in an international environment, but above all we expect you to be a self-starter with high level of flexibility, resilience and self-learning attitude. As a person, you are a solid team-player with good prioritizing, communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience on electrical substations or -equipment is a advantage.
