Physical Requirements Sitting/standing for long periods of time; effectively communicating with individuals from diverse backgrounds; intermittent job-related travel Shift Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Job Summary The Institute for Biomedical Informatics is seeking a Project Specialist to join the team. This position will serve with the Department for Medicaid Services as part of the Behavioral Health Policy Team. Clinical experience in a practice enrolled with KY Medicaid is preferred (5+ years). Focus will be on Substance Use Disorder population, programs, and services.

The Project Specialist will be responsible for the planning, executing, tracking, and documentation of the contract project deliverables including timelines and milestones. Will work in close collaboration with other Cabinet for Health & Family Services agencies, Managed Care Organizations, and community providers. Day to day work will consist of policy research of other state’s approaches, setting and facilitating meetings, analyzing data reports and trends to inform policy and future payment methods. Must be self-motivated and able to work in a team environment, have excellent communication and writing skills, and be able to meet important deadlines. Additional responsibilities include assisting with on-going compliance and amendments of State Plan and regulatory requirements and other related Medicaid Behavioral Health initiatives and duties.

Work will be remote with limited in person meeting dates required. Knowledge of CMS federal requirements, 1115 demonstration waivers, and Kentucky Medicaid Behavioral Health regulations would be a plus.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Microsoft Project, clarity, or other PM tool experience. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
