Introduction

We are seeking a Technical Project Support (Senior Project Engineer) to join our services team. You will be responsible for defining unique solutions for major equipment component replacements and Metso turnkey projects. 

As senior member of the team, the individual will work with the well experienced managers and technicians to develop a game plan enabling them to succeed on all fronts and become the reference in the industry. 

 

 

This position is located in Lachine, (CA) and Sudbury, (CA) however, it involves up to 50% of travel to customer sites. 

 

What you’ll do

•    Lead the technical planning and execution to ensure the highest quality of service project solutions.   
•    Develop project scope of work, schedules, and budgets, adjusting as necessary based on project demands or changes. •    Prepare mechanical drawings and information packages to facilitate fabrication, construction, and installing for equipment or services to refurbish, upgrade, or retrofit. 
•    Develop tools, and procedures to support field service representatives during the execution of projects.
•    Perform risk assessments to identify potential project obstacles and devise mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
•    Oversee the design and development of engineering solutions, ensuring they comply with industry standards and project specifications.
•    Facilitate communication between project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and team members, to ensure clear understanding of project objectives and progress.
•    Review and approve technical documentation, such as design drawings, reports, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
•    Review and support technical recommendations following equipment inspection (NDT and mechanical) based on Metso and industry standards.
•    Investigate and apply innovative technologies or methodologies to improve project outcomes, efficiency, or sustainability.
•    Lead technical project support team, along with train and mentor junior project engineers and field service representatives as required.

 

Who you are

•    10-15 years of experience in heavy industry preferably with mineral processing equipment, preferably the related products
•    Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering 
•    Preferred Professional Eng.
•    Must have good knowledge of the broad range of Metso equipment such as crushers, mills, pyro, bulk handling, screens, process equipment, pumps, etc.
•    Highly motivated individual with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
•    Capable of effectively and accurately working on several engineering projects at one time, organizing and prioritizing tasks, and working in a fast-paced environment.
•    A high level of computer skills is essential including CAD software, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook email and Salesforce applications. Preferred experience within SAP.
•    Valid Driver License
•    Good communication skills, mandatory fluency in English, oral and written.
