This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement.  Candidates who live near one of our office locations will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).   Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise. 

The Technical Rater will support Middle/Large Commercial Operations. The Technical Rater position works under limited supervision of the Operations Manager as well as consults with Account Managers and Underwriting. Middle Market is looking for a highly motivated, results-oriented individual with a strong desire to combine advanced technical skills with superior customer service skills. The successful candidate will challenge current processes, drive continuous improvement and develop partnerships with internal business customers.

Responsibilities:

Rates and quotes new business on new accounts according to established guidelines

Interprets and analyzes data and independently makes decisions on quoting policies

Verifies policy information

Effectively balances quality, timeliness and productivity standards

Manages daily workload

Actively participates on projects that impact our team

Communicates regularly with internal business customers

Utilizes multiple systems on a daily basis to complete and manage work

Ensure proper activities are created/documented Manage daily work through the use of Policy Center and NADB

​Qualifications

Prior Commercial Insurance experience required

Prior Commercial Rating experience

Policy Center and NADB system experience

Experience processing customer requests in an insurance production environment a plus

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Must have strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent time management

Ability to balance competing priorities to meet changing business needs independently

Ability to learn quickly and handle complexity in a fast-paced environment

Team player with focus on engagement and collaboration

Customer service experience with strong attention to detail

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$42,080 - $63,120
