JOB SUMMARY\n

To provide project management blasting services within the LLC. Provide technical support and training to division personnel promote technical advancement of product and blasting techniques and support company sales.\n

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nProvide advanced technical assistance to employees and customers including blast planning, blast assessment, and blast optimization.\nMaintain a safe and healthy work environment by assuring regulatory compliance (MSHA, OSHA, ATF, DOT, etc.).\nEnsure job site operational and regulatory procedures are accurately and uniformly implemented.\nConduct job site assessments to identify areas of potential safety and regulatory exposures and implement preventative measures to mitigate risk.\nParticipate in the investigation of accidents and incidents to determine cause and recommend corrective action to management.\nDevelop and coordinate internal networks of expertise that could be shared throughout the LLC.\nAssist in the training and certification of LLC personnel.\nSupport manufacturing objectives to improve and ensure continuing product quality.\nMaintain routine contact with the explosives industry and relevant experts to be aware of regulatory and product issues that could have an impact on operations.\nMaintain knowledge of industry trends, applications, and product development and technical advancements.\nMeet with general public, landowners and interest groups concerning blasting issues, regulations, standards or policies.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\n

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nAssist or perform the duties of Technical Sales Rep (TSR).\nAssist or perform the duties of Certified Blaster.\n\n

QUALIFICATIONS:\n

Education:\n\nBachelors' degree, preferably in Mining.\n\n

Licenses\/Training\/Certification\n

Must possess upon hire or acquire within 12 months of hire the following certification:\n\nAustin Powder Company Blasting Certification\nState Blasting License, as required\nMSHA New Miner and MSHA Experienced Miner\nCPR\nHazmat\nConfined Space\nATF Refresher\nTask Training as required\n\n

Experience\n\n3-5 years certified blasting experience.\n3-5 years supervisory experience.\n\n

Knowledge\/Skills\/Abilities\n\nKnowledge and ability to use project management equipment.\nInterpersonal\/Communication Skills: Demonstrates an ability to work with supervisors, co-workers and subordinates toward the accomplishment of a common goal. Utilizes effective written and verbal communication techniques.\nProduct\/Technical Knowledge: Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of company products and equipment.\nTime Management Skills: Demonstrates an ability to manage own schedule and frequently others, for maximum opportunity.\nAnalytical Skills: Demonstrates an ability to analyze complex problems and make sound recommendations.\nPresentation Skills: Demonstrates ability to present information in written and verbal format to widely diverse audiences.\n\n

ERGONOMIC CONDITIONS\n\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job:\nNecessary to be able to handle the elements of the weather conditions as well as the rough terrains of the job sites.\nExposure to dust, noise, oils, greases, and other debris.\n\n

Physical Requirements\n

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to:\n\nWalk, stand, sit, use hands to operate controls and work with tools, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.\n80% travel, generally within the LLC.\n\n
