Your Key Responsibilities As a Sales Engineer at Schaeffler Special Machinery Netherlands B.V. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for developing unique, customer-specific, supply and assembly systems. With your thorough technical knowledge and communication skills, you are able to bring the sales process to a good result both technically and commercially. Where necessary, you bring the quotation to the desired end result, the assignment!
During the conversations with the (potential) customer, you concretize the customer question and work it out in calculations, technical designs and sketches, with or without the other departments, such as vibratory feeder construction and engineering. You also determine, in consultation with planning and production, the delivery times and guarantees.
Based on the customer profile and difficulty quote, we determine the right strategy in the sales team to convince the customer of our solution(s). This may mean that you complete a quotation for an assignment independently and visit the customer to substantiate the solution(s) offered. Where necessary, you are present at the purchase of the system(s) or visit the customer some time after delivery to discuss the first results.
Main tasks: 70% Technical, 30% commercial
20% Coming up with a concept, sparring with colleagues, working out in explanation detail. 25% Developing a concept in calculation, requesting information from suppliers/partners. 20% Developing quotations. 5% Coordinating assignments in the organization. 15% Contact with customers, collecting customer questions, explanation of quotations, follow-up calls on current quotes, follow-up calls from existing customers. 15% Visit customers to coordinate customer demand, present quotation, pick up assignment.
You are the organizer who knows how to connect commerce with technology and production and also thinks internally about how Special Machinery can further professionalize itself. Customers such as Philips, Nedcar, Brabantia, DAF Trucks, Nemef, Unilever and Johnson & Johnson choose Special Machinery's solutions. Your Qualifications HBO working and thinking level or relevant work experience. Educational background in Mechanical Engineering (WTB), HTS, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Technology or similar. Handy and competent with CAD drawing packages and ERP systems. Experience in a technical and/or commercial position within mechanical engineering. You are in possession of a driving license B. Personnel qualities such as: technical, commercial, relationship manager, cooperative, creative, independent, analytical, innovative, solution-oriented, strong contacts. Technical know-how to develop customer demand into partial solutions. Sparring partner customer for technical solutions, fitting into our portfolio. Understanding the dynamics of the customer and thus offering the right solution for the customer's needs. Being able to convince/explain/defend the solution to the customer in a well-founded way.
