The Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) is a key commercial role within the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD) of Thermo Fisher Scientific. This is a Presales focused role with the primary responsibility for selling and supporting High Pressure Liquid Chromatography Products within the greater Boston/Cambridge and CT/NYC area. In line with the strategic objectives of CMD, the purpose of this role is to improve the business potential by working together with the Account Managers (AM) within the geography to increase and sustain revenue growth of the LC product line. In addition to achieving their own product specific targets, the TSS supports their sales colleagues by providing technical expertise, competitive positioning advice and strategic mentorship on growing the product line success. The TSS reveals and elevates the customer’s interest in the products and drives the Thermo Fisher Scientific value proposition from sample to knowledge.
Responsibilities:Identify and prioritize new client opportunities to drive business growth.Conduct prospecting activities, establish relationships with key opinion leaders, and improve market penetration.Develop positive relationships with major decision-makers within accounts.Support Account Managers with strategy development and execution.Communicate customer feedback to the Business Unit and support new product introductions.Collaborate with sales teams to manage the sales funnel and achieve sales goals.Maintain awareness of competitor and industry trends; introduce new products and services.Leadership:Work collaboratively in a team-selling environment and engage internal resources to solve customer challenges.Lead team coordination with various internal specialists to provide technical expertise.Represent the company at seminars and workshops, and provide training to Account Managers.Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:3 years of sales experience in the analytical instrument market.Proven track record of sales achievements and managing high-value accounts.Master’s degree in science or equivalent work experience.Insight into industry trends and challenges is preferred.Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems.Ability to travel up to 80%, including overnight travel.
