We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious student to join our R&D team for summer 2025! As the Technical Service Intern, Global & Regional Accounts, you will support new product development and creating customer valued solutions. You will be responsible for developing/preparing food formulations and prototypes for various customer and business initiatives on a pilot plant and lab bench top scale utilizing Good Manufacturing Practices. You will perform research related duties as needed or assigned, support internal and external customer request; execute on analytical testing as well as document and prepare technical reports with guidance from manager.
Your role will be:Operating laboratory equipment safely and with little direct supervision to support project needsMaintaining a clean, safe work environment; following guidelines for good housekeeping and safetyManaging work project(s) to meet project timelines and deliverablesAnalyzing and understanding data, results and scientific literature to advance projectsWorking collaboratively with Technical Service team members and other internal colleagues to meet target objectivesPerforming laboratory experiments, conduct data analysis and interpret results to make recommendations to project team and support the projectPresenting prototypes, project status, updates and outcomes to team and key stakeholdersMaking presentations and writing technical reportsYour profile needs these qualifications:Progress towards a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food or Chemical Engineering or related field with with a minimum GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 preferredMust have completed at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior or non-graduating seniorAbility to work safely in a laboratory environmentAbility to work 40hrs per week during the summer internship termReliable transportation required to go to and from facility each work dayExperience with hands-on food concept development with laboratory and/or pilot plant equipment is a plusKnowledge of common food processes, food ingredient functionality and ingredient interactions preferredExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written technical communication skills, e.g. making presentations and writing technical data/reportsWorking knowledge of basic computer software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)You’ll need these skills to be successful:Proven ability to deliver under agreed upon deadlinesAbility to work collaboratively with peers and othersSolid teamwork skills and creative problem solvingDesire to see and create resultsTo be eligible for consideration, candidates must:Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
