As a member of the polyisobutene business team, you will provide our customers the technical support they need in existing and new applications for polyisobutene (Oppanol & Glissopal).
As a Technical Service Manager, you create chemistry by...Understanding customer needs, supporting customers with the use of existing products, defining opportunities for new product development, and following market & regulatory trends.
Providing technical support for existing products and new product launches.
Providing technical trainings to colleagues, customers, and distributors.
Being a liaison between various functional groups (such as test facilities, various laboratories, corporate research, pilot scaleup and production) and external vendors.
Providing input for and develop the technical content for marketing materials
If you...Hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with over 1 year of relevant experience, a Master’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with over 4 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with over 6 years of relevant experience.
Have experience presenting technical content to customers and at conferences.
Possess a strong understanding of how polymers are applied in various industries, including adhesives, sealants, coatings, nutrition, packaging, construction, and transportation, with familiarity in sensitive applications like nutrition and medical being a plus.
Hold familiarity with statistical interpretation and data visualization, as well as Design of Experiments methods.
Have the ability to work independently with high efficiency and demonstrate creativity in problem-solving.

Pay transparency
BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $120k - $145k. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
