ResponsibilitiesThe 18-month contract position will work under the Project Administration domain of PCL's construction project management application. The role will perform the listed duties:
Engage with, survey, and interview end-users to discover unmet needs or opportunities Discover, define, write user stories while working with stakeholders to establish new contemplated functionality Translate functional and non-functional requirements from stakeholders and users into wireframes and prototypes to get their buy-in on the solution Write clear, concise and unambiguous work instructions for team developers to translate requirements into working software Performs initial quality assurance process to ensure delivered software is as-intended Prepares software demonstrations for technical and business audiences based on as-built functionality Plans and conducts usability tests with end users to validate performance of new features Works within team's existing Agile solution delivery frameworks, following established practices, processes, rules and deadlines. Organize and categorizes and maintain backlog of work and team documentation based on established norms and practicesQualifications Postsecondary degree or diploma in information management, information technology, computing science, business administration or related discipline 2-5 years of relevant experience preferred Effective visual, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts clearly and concisely to end-users and team members Ability to think logically and analytically, to constructively express ideas and concepts and solve problems Proven organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize own work is expected within deadlines & constraints Ability to learn independently, with a natural curiosity to understanding how something works Fine attention to detail is an asset Prior exposure to some aspect of the software development lifecycle is an asset Familiarity with User Experience principles & design thinking concepts is an asset Demonstrated exposure to the following tools and software is an asset: Wireframing tools such as Balsamiq, Figma, Sketch or Adobe XD Work management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira or GitHub Microsoft Power Platform tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps Microsoft Dynamics 365 (as an end-user or consultant) for Finance and Operations
