Under the Vehicle Architecture organization, our Craftsmanship team is looking for a highly motivated and passionate individual to work on the Design Execution & Perceived Quality of the next generation of products at Lucid! Our approach for this role here is cradle to grave, from initial sketch & concept phase up until the production phase. What you’ll do
Lead one of the new vehicle development for the Craftsmanship attribute on Lucid’s midsize platform
Set sensorial targets and bring cross functional team together to drive both the Interior or Exterior development
Maintain Fit & Finish target documentation with latest agreements and developments agreed with the cross-functional team
Author & Review Lucid standards and design guidelines, to ensure the Craftsmanship team can capitalize on previous wins while pushing forward to keep an edge over competitors
Work with the Design Studio, Design Engineering, Dimensional and Advanced Manufacturing teams to ensure that the targets are achievable in volume production
Review surfaces & CAD design to highlight attribute risks to the Craftsmanship Manager
Propose alternative surface, cutline and interface execution to Design Studio for better perceived quality results
Advise on minimum section requirements depending on materials & manufacturing process to the CAS team
Supervise and report to the executive team on Cubing events to deliver part maturation and ensure highest levels of craftsmanship in production
Evaluate and support the improvement of sensory aspects of our products
What you’ll bring
A minimum of 5 years of Experience working as craftsmanship / perceived quality / Design Quality; relevant similar Studio Engineer experience will be considered
Demonstrated experience as a detail-oriented person with design sensitivity for Exterior & Interior Components and Systems
Understanding of the Craftsmanship role and impact beyond gap & flush targets
Evidence of driving effectively and negotiating with cross-functional teams to achieve results and exceed customers’ expectations
Mechanical Engineering and GD&T understanding
Structured and organized approach to work, able to multitask and keep an overview of the program while keeping open communication within the Craftsmanship team
Great technical abilities paired with excellent communication skills
Ability to notice and address minute details that impact overall product perception
A deep-seated commitment to achieving unparalleled quality in products
Relentless drive to push the Craftsmanship & Perceived Quality attribute forward
Demonstration of knowledge in a variety of manufacturing methods, injection molding, stamping, wrapping, CNC, back-injection, etc…
Statistical data understanding
Advantageous
Good logical reasoning and numeracy and literacy
Two full program cycle experience from concept to production launch in automotive Exterior and Interior Components and Systems
Strong competency in materials selection, plastic injection molding/DFM, and GD&T
Demonstrated customer first approach
A practical hands-on approach to complement the theoretical
Master’s degree in a relevant field
Education
Bachelor's degree in Science degree in an Engineering or Product Design discipline
