The Role
To support the Technical Support Manager and Contract Manager in supplying the correct Top Hammer products and maximizing the performance of the Top Hammer drill string at the customer site and actively lead the customer in the correct usage of the products to maximize the performance of the Sandvik Top Hammer drilling equipment, promoting products and services, with a view to expand sales and maximize the profitability of the Top Hammer business.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor Top Hammer equipment performance against set standards.
Perform gap analysis on Top Hammer equipment and make recommendations to Technical Support Manager, Contract Manager, and customer on how to maximize Top Hammer drilling equipment performance.
Provide input to the Contract Manager and/or Supervisor on ordering of all Top Hammer equipment for the site.
Coach Ground Engaging Tools (GET) Operatives and Operators on the correct handling and usage of Top Hammer drill equipment to minimize the operational cost for the customer.
Make the customer aware of the latest Sandvik’s product technology enhancements to guide the customer in making an informed decision on the products to use to achieve better drilling performance.
Maintain high levels of service with both internal and external customers.
Continuously improve and update personal knowledge with respect to product development and technical innovation.
Profile Required
Grade 12/equivalent qualification
GET level 1 and 2.
At least 5 years’ experience in Top Hammer drilling is essential.
Blasting certificate/Mechanical trade (advantageous)
A well-developed understanding of the mining/construction/quarrying industry
Strong Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) focus
Good understanding of Mine Health and Safety Regulations
Knowledge of and experience with any Sandvik Mining Rock Tools product range
Ability to work independently and as part of an integrated team.
In depth understanding of customer business processes (advantageous)
Highly developed time management and organizational skills
Highly developed interpersonal skills
Computer literacy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High level of initiative and determination to achieve goals and targets set for customer satisfaction.
Physically and medically fit to work in a mining environment.
Valid driver’s licence
