The Opportunity
The Technical Specialist (TS) is a support function to an assigned sale specialist and/or territory to ensure customer expectations are satisfied before, during and post-surgery of an orthopaedic procedure. Reporting to the Technical Supervisor, close coordination is required between the different stakeholders, which includes sales, customer service, logistics (distribution, warehousing delivery). It is expected that the TS will manage be responsible for the instrumentation, implants, and workshops materials allocated to the assigned territory. As part of the Trauma team, this role is required to cover cases in the operating theatre and be part on a on-call roster.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to operating staff in theatre during orthopaedic surgery.Ensure instrumentation are complete, clean and properly packed prior to and after surgery.Develop adequate knowledge of Company’s orthopaedic product portfolio and instrumentation so as to assist nurses and doctors in surgery.Support sales personnel during in-services to nurses and doctors and participate in exhibitions (either weekdays or weekends).Maintain confidentiality of Company’s documentation e.g. pricing, product specifications etc.Support sales personnel in the management of inventory for all product portfolio.Assist in topping up of consignment implants whenever necessary.Ensure that consignment implants are complete at all timesAble to be mobilised during on-call for the next assignment/surgery case.Prepared to support surgeons in surgery during weekends when necessary.Be in operating theatre at least 15 minutes prior to surgery.Feedback to sales personnel any complaints, competitive activities and suggestions from nurses and doctors.Assist in cataloguing documentation whenever necessary.Assist in bi-annual stock-takingAt Johnson Johnson, we believe health is everything.
