This position supports the need for a Technical Expert who can lead an Interiors/Seats/Restraints/Body/Safety perspective to find the optimized solutions with specific vehicles and Interiors to meet occupant needs and assure compliance to all Safety and Regulatory requirement. This position will work collaboratively with Research, Safety, Seats/Restraints/Interiors, Studio, Vehicle Engineering teams to create a cohesive strategy for the vehicle and target customers’ needs. The position will lead and manage business case propositions across functional teams to bring the whole strategy together and in-line with futuring and global market trends strategies. This position will be responsible to identifying and solving Technology Gap strategies and identifying either in-house or supplier-partner based solutions. This position must be able to bring concepts from ideas to physical realities and to continue to lead and guide applications to achieve desire goals and to assure any trade-offs etc., are considered and factored into the vehicle strategy. This position will also be very focused on Reductive Engineering to assure that we find the best possible X-system business cases and solutions to meet all customer needs.
You'll have...
Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
Minimum 10 years total experience with 6 years of seats, restraints and interior safety systems.

Masters of Science in Engineering.
Familiar with vehicle systems and x-commodity knowledge.
Understanding of assembly plant & supplier manufacturing methods and processes.
Strong leadership skills, able to drive awareness and recognition of issues.
Ability to utilize Business Case, Safety, Regulatory, & Quality tools.
Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally at multiple levels within the organization.

What you'll do...
Responsible (Owner) for the creation and maintenance of the Core Engineering Documents (FMA Documents, SDS/Requirements and Test Procedures, etc.) for these Systems & Sub-systems. Leads TDRs for System/Subsystem/Component Design Reviews. Integral to Signoff of System/Subsystem/Component with specific signoff responsibility BEFORE Chief & Technical Leaders Signoff. Go-To for Problem Solving – Launch, Recall, Quality / Field Issues. Coach, Mentor and Train the organization in your specialties and skills sets. Review program needs and user experiences globally. Work with Research Teams for Interiors, Seats & Restraints & Safety for technology needs to enable new user experiences within the Interior space. Develop technology GAP analyses and strategies to enable user experience needs in the Interiors. Interface and collaborate with Pre-PSC teams, Programs, Crash Safety, Passive Safety, and Interiors Research teams to enable desired features and experiences. Interface and collaborate with Studio teams to enable customer interfaces and Design needs to enable new experiences. Develop and enable Futuring Strategies and Global Market Trends. Develop and management Business Cases and interfaces with Marketing, Pre-PSC, Finance, Programs, etc. Lead Reductive Engineering efforts to assure best possible X-system solutions and business cases are achieved (i.e., trade-offs) while meeting requirements and regulatory and SDG/PDG needs.
