This position will lead the development & implementation of robust system level design for cross car beams. The position includes supporting the development & implementation of cross car beam expertise & training strategies globally to increase acumen, technical methodologies & design process as well as manufacturing-readiness process controls covering requirements for cross car beams and its contribution to vehicle systems. This position will also provide expertise for design rule implementation, CCRG/Field action evaluations, fixes & launch-readiness. These duties include alignment with core Instrument panel system, restraints team, Global STA counterparts & suppliers.
You'll have...
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
10 years of overall industry experience.
6 years of experience in Product Development focused on Instrument Panel System and Cross Car Beam design.

Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
Experience with and understanding of cross car beam.
Strong understanding of design principles and materials used in automotive interiors.
Experience with CAD software.
Experience with the creation and maintenance of the Core Engineering Documents (FMA Documents, SDS/Requirements and Test Procedures, etc.)
Experience leading TDRs for System/Subsystem/Component.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

What you'll do...
The Cross Car Beam Technical Specialist is a recognized technical expert who can interface with all levels of management and outside activities on issues related to cross car beams. Assist management in the identification, resolution and presentation of department technical strategies, objectives and issues. The objective of the position is to provide a technical resource to guide design of components and systems to deliver performance. Design and develop efficient cross car beam to eliminate failure modes. Recommend, develop, and verify applications for new, advanced designs across all vehicle lines globally. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that materials and designs meet performance requirements. Integral to Signoff of System/Subsystem/Component with specific signoff responsibility BEFORE Chief Signoff. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including engineering drawings and test protocols. Conduct testing and validation of new materials and parts. Drive efficiency through analytical validation and correlation to physical testing. Provide technical support to application teams globally, troubleshoot and resolve issues. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to cross car beam. Provide training, mentoring and consulting to department engineers, supervisors, and other Tech. Specialists. Support Campaign Prevent. Provide technical advice to ASO, OGC and Design Analysis.
