Job Description:

Microchip’s MPU group offers microprocessors which rightly balance the performance, power, cost and comes with advanced security capabilities which caters to a multitude of applications. With a broad set of peripherals and interfaces, these MPUs can support a wide range of applications. Point of sales systems, home and industrial automation systems, automotive infotainment etc. are just a few among various supported end uses.    

As a Staff Design Engineer in the MPU32 group, you will work with our multi-sited global Silicon Development Team in design and development of complex SoCs. The work will include SoC design integration, microarchitecture, design verification, synthesis, test methodologies as well as supporting post silicon bring up. A successful candidate will also be responsible for training and mentoring junior engineers to grow the team. This position requires a proactive and highly motivated candidate with a proven record of success in a multi-site and multi-functional team environment. The position is based out of Chandler, USA.

Responsibilities

Design and integration of complex IPs and subsystems into SoCUnderstanding SoC requirements and architecture specificationsUnderstand IP specifications and work with IP/architecture/application teams to correctly integrate the IPs into SOCs, meeting the chip level requirements.RTL DesignRun RTL checks – Lint, CDC, RDCSupport Development of verification plan for subsystems/SoC Collaborate with cross functional teams in architecture and IP evaluations, performance, power analysis, pre and post silicon validationOvercome design challenges, support achievement of verification goals, provide debug supportHold spec reviews, code reviews, integration reviews, coverage analysis, etc. to meet quality goalsDevelopment of timing constraints and synthesisPower Estimation and AnalysisProvide guidance to junior team members   

Requirements/Qualifications:

BS or MS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 12+ years of experienceExpert in digital designExcellent understanding of System on Chip architecturesWorking experience and thorough understanding of ARM AMBA bus protocolsWorking experience in complex SoC design and verification projectsExpertise in RTL coding using Verilog/SystemVerilogLow Power Design knowledge.Good Understanding of CPrevious experience and proficiency in any one of commonly used scripting languages (Perl, Python etc)Excellent debug skills in both functional and gate level simulationsIP/SoC Synthesis experienceProficiency and experience in configuration and integration of some of the following SOC componentsDDR/LPDDR SDRAMCAN, I3C, GMAC, PCIe, USBSecurity IPs like DES, AES, SHAMIPI DSI/CSI, GPU, Video Codec IPsSoC InterconnectsARM Trustzone, CoresightKnowledge of standard version control systems    Superior Written and Verbal Communication skillsExperience working with global cross functional teams
