As a Technical Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal operational readiness of your assigned fleet, with a strong focus on safety, fuel efficiency, and reducing the carbon footprint. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking company offering an exciting onshore role based in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Champion Safety and Compliance:
Promote and cultivate a safety-first mindset across all operations. Actively participate in incident investigations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure vessels comply with international, flag state, classification society, and port state regulations at all times. 2) Oversee Crew Management:
Lead and manage your onboard team, fostering alignment with organizational policies and procedures. Conduct appraisals and performance reviews for senior officers. Ensure crew welfare, training, and development meet industry and company standards. 3) Manage Vessel Maintenance:
Coordinate with service engineers, manufacturers, and contractors to address ship maintenance and repairs. Monitor vessel conditions and maintenance standards, ensuring adherence to company procedures. Conduct risk analysis and manage ship defect lists, ensuring timely resolution. 4) Budget and Resource Management:
Monitor operating costs and prepare quarterly budget reports. Submit monthly performance reports and manage resource planning for efficient operations. Minimum Requirements:
5–8 years of experience managing vessels independently with reputable shipowners or ship managers. Experienced with container/dry bulk vessels. A safety-oriented mindset with a proven track record of operational excellence. Knowledge of container ships is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively in team-based environments.
