Job Description: This position is generally responsible for lead management of various research support systems: Research facilities, team of Technical Assistants (TAs), laboratory safety and regulatory compliance systems. Major elements of this job include: + Semiworks Area Manager – manage monthly and yearly required safety inspections, conduct safety, fire, environmental audits (and complete the recommendations), complete requirements from leveraged site services groups (tank inspections, relief devices) and own/be responsible for the equipment, attend Site people leader meetings and safety meetings, manage safety orientation training for technical personnel working in the Research Annex, manage TA personnel across the Research Annex and SRL. Coordinate with construction groups for D&R, installation, etc. + Supervision of Technical Assistants – leading and managing the technical assistants involved with work/testing in the Research Annex, SRL, etc. Work with HR and Aramids Technical Manager as needed for bargaining related to Technical Assistants. Serve as TA Progression Coordinator in Spruance TA Progression System. + Manage R&D maintenance – with the maintenance coordinating TA, oversee priorities for maintenance for each area, approve work orders, approve lock outs for equipment, schedule contractors for required equipment calibrations, back up to maintenance coordinator during vacation. Work with area and site maintenance to perform PSM required calibrations in SAP, verify annual PMs are set up and performed, landlord for several buildings/areas of Research. + Process Safety Management – Manage PSM system for W&P Technology research groups, lead annual training to all technical groups, lead SI investigations for Research areas of responsibility, PSM element leader for research, manage Research SOP system in SharePoint, edit and revise Pilot/Semi-Works research procedures, execute PHA’s for semiworks areas as required (cyclical/mothball), represent Research on PSM committee and Responsible Care committee, PSM audits of S26A or S21A implementation across site for multiple R&D facilities. Requirements: + BS and equivalent management experience + Three years’ work experience and multiple assignments in research or manufacturing professional roles. + Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. + Demonstrated networking and teamwork skills. + Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills. + Strong organizational and planning skills. + Excellent written and oral communication skills with the demonstrated ability to contribute to a team environment. + Motivated self-starter with a bias for action and driving results. + Experience in SAP and S2P + Experience filling out work permits and coordinating with maintenance/construction. Desired skills: + BS in engineering or related science field + 5+ years leadership experience + Prior supervisory experience of union represented employees preferred. + Work experience leading or functionally guiding represented employees. + Process safety management experience. + Lock-out experience. (Lockout Supervisor skills preferred) + Experience using SAP for work orders, POs, ordering supplies, cost management. + Experience using S2P for POs and cost management. + Work permit approver and ability to initiate new permits. + Trained and qualified to issue the following permits: hot work, confined space, penetration, line break, etc. + Ability to drive work to completion. + Self-driven and able to make and own decisions. **This position requires access to export-controlled technology, technical data or defense services, as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate’s ability to access export-controlled technology, technical data or defense services as authorized pursuant to US regulation or an export authorization obtained by DuPont approved by the controlling US government agency.** Join our Talent Community (http://careers.dupont.com/us/en/jointalentcommunity) to stay connected with us!
